OK, it's not a problem I just find it really annoying that every time I brake or apply the handbrake my brakes make a squeaking sound. I'm not sure whether it's coming from the brakes themselves which obviously can't be oiled or from somewhere else along the lines..
Anyone got any ideas?
Squeaky Brakes
Re: Squeaky Brakes
Common sense would suggest you need new discs and shoes. Seriously, do you not think that squeaking+breaks=disaster!?
Re: Squeaky Brakes
Only had them done about 3 months ago so I doubt it's that..
Re: Squeaky Brakes
Funny you say this Dan. My handbrake makes a light squeeze noise and so dose my brake pedal. once like one time for like less then a second when the pedal is pressed. And i have a noise coming from my brakes on the o/s of the car, cant make out weather its the front or rear. I've checked the brakes out but can't find anything. Brakes are working fine though.
I'll just keep searching, lol.

Re: Squeaky Brakes
Could be glazing on the rear shoes. Really need the drums off to inspect them.

Yeah, that's exactly what mine's like, let me know if you ever work it out.vw-po-low wrote:Funny you say this Dan. Sounds like a lot of effort, I think I'll just live with italexperkins wrote:Could be glazing on the rear shoes. Really need the drums off to inspect them.
Re: Squeaky Brakes
Its possibly the rear drums as Alex suggested. Its also common for the handbrake to squeek as you release the handbrake handbrake on some cars.
