strange coolant problem? gti help plz!!

so wen i got my car out of the garge this morning, as soon as i started the engine the red coolant light was flashing, so i lifted the bonnet and the coolant level was just visable in the bowl, so i went to my local halfords to get some more colant ( very slowley lol ), half way there the light went off, wen i got there i open the bonnet and the coolant level in the bowl was above max, so i brought some just incase, when i got back home i noticed a puddle of wat i think is coolant on my garage floor but it was not from the engine bay it was futher back to the left hand side ( under front passanger side )
one of my m8's said that it myte have an air lock
eanybody got any idears?????

Have a snout underneath where you've described. I'm pretty sure the electric water pump is down there somewhere. They can leak. Listen also for a grinding / gurgling noise from the pump. They can be stripped and cleaned out, providing it's not shot and leaking.

I'm not sure if the K03S is water cooled, but it could also be one of the coolant lines.

sounds like what mine was doing, it will be the radiator get it into vw mate they replaced mine under warranty lol.

yeh sounds like the lower radiator pipe!

happened on my old gti!

mine was the radiator had a new one a few months back!

took the car to vw today and it needs a new rad, shud be fixed some time next week, so iv got a 58 plate polo blue-motion for a few days

thats what happened to mine all the fornt end has to come off!
