Help With Audio

Hey guys,

was wondering if u can help me with some sound
i got the polo 9n 05 plate with the round headlights, u guys seem to know what that is just from that lol
now im a bit nooby with this audio stuff, so be gentle

i think from reading around on the forum i dont really wana go crazy at first, i think just replacing the front speakers will be fine for now,
run them off the Headunit (pioneer 50UB, i know, only 1 space for amplifier) then ill move onto the back speakers, then the sub and the amp together.

so yeh, i think the first step is to look at speakers that will go in the front, which i believe are 6.5 or 17cm or whatever from reading around right?
i geuss these will come with tweeters as a component package. so running these speakers and tweets off the HU is a good idea then using the amp to power the sub right?

would it also be possible to power the front 2 speakers, 2 tweeters, back 2 speakers and a sub off one amp? or would i need multiple, cos i read somewhere also on here that u can extend the amount of amps u can get into the Head Unit or can i jst get an expensive amp that covers alot of channels?

so which component speaker would be ideal for this first step of just 2 speakers in the front and 2 tweeters? any ideas?
somewhere between £50 - £100 would be great

if i can get one of u audio masters to give me a hand to what i should buy and where i can get it from,
then it would be greatly appreciated as i really dont want to mess around with speakers that dont just screw in to the gap, cos im no good with drilling holes for a bigger speaker.

Yeah, you definitely have tweeters in the front...mounted in the A pillar. You'll be able to tell where these are mounted by looking at the A pillar trim. You also have 6.5" midbass drivers in the front doors, and depending on what trim your car is, also rear midbass (probably 5.25") and tweeters. It all depends on what you're trying to improve on in your car and how you like your music. Letting us know what you're trying to achieve would be a good start

The midbass and tweeters at the front are run from one channel each, ie. a single two channel (or four channel bridged) amplifier would suffice. In a typical system, speaker wire from each of these channels goes to a crossover which seperates the high and low fequencies which are channeled to the tweeters and midbass drivers respectively.

I wouldn't recommend upgrading your rear speakers (if present). Don't add any to the parcel shelf either, especially if you want to run a subwoofer...the speakers on the parcel shelf and the sub are sharing the same air space ie the boot, and playing different frequncies...the most likely scenario is that any speakers mounted on the parcel shelf will be damaged by air displaced by the sub. Even if you don't want a sub, there's no point on adding speakers in the rear as this drags the soundstage to the rear, leading to an un-natural sound.

I'd recommend either a component system up front on its own, or in conjunction with a subwoofer in the back. I'd also recommend geting a four channel amp...if you're just running components, bridge it into two channels, or with a sub, run two channels for the components and bridge the other two for a sub.

For non car-specific questions, like what to get, I recommend heading over to www.talkaudio.co.uk and getting their opinion. The guys there are much more clued up on what's hot and what's not

im mainly looking for a general nice sound, high pitch's are nicely heard aswell as punching some bass.
i have no idea what i need by channel and amps? whats the difference?

i know a 2 speakers comes with 2 tweeters and these 2 block things,
would i connect the headset to the amp, the amp to sub and channels, and then the channels to the speakers?
also, would i have to pull all the wiring out of the exisiting speakers are rewire them to go into a channel thingy?

can u give me a dumbed down idea of what i have to do?
so yeh, something that sounds high quality, thats no gona distort at loud level to easily that packs a punch of bass?
