6N2 Colour Concept or GTI?

Post by Polo96CL »

Hi guys,

Rarely post in this section but have come across some time in which i'm going to be working to earn some money. I'm thinking about saving up about £1500 and selling the polo, earning myself around £2500-£3000 for a new car. My first thoughts are 6N2 Colour Concept or GTI. Couple of problems though, mainly the first being insurance on a GTi, has anyone got any good quotes for an 18 year old? Can be with my dad as main driver with 4 years NCB and me with 1 NCB pass plus if it brings it down any lower. You've got the looks, power and comfort too.

Brings me onto another car, a 6n2 Colour Concept, probably in either black or blue, this is very appealing as its got the full leather and the works interior, yet has a 1.4 16v engine to be a considerable change from my 1.4 8v 6n and only slightly more insurance. Love Tims smoothed GTi which is why i'd like the black colour, and you do get the nice colour concept alloys which can be used in winters (will be keeping my Rxii's).

Has anyone driven both and can compare? Any feedback would be ace though,

Daz

Having driven both, the GTI is by many means a much more enjoyable car to drive in so many ways! CCs are sluggish by comparison, and they lack certain touches and features the GTI sports

Insurance on the GTI will be over £1200 as thats what Im on with dad and 10 years NCB protected etcetc its not a cheap run thats for sure!

As for engines on the CC, they came in two versions. The 1.4 16V 75 and also the 100 bhp. The 75 is not really worth considering as it really isnt that great at all - in fact, my genesis puts it to shame lol! The 100hp is a much better engine, but better still, if you can find a TDI, one of those and a remap and itll eat a GTI!

I wouldn't be so struck with the insurance. Mine cost £1200 when i was was 19. Try out Bell insurance, they're quite good with younger drivers.

A TDi would be a good move, but you know the GTi would be better 8)
