Driving round corners problem

Post by smithysmoo »

Seems like I have to fight with the steerring wheel to get it round corners quickly. Is very strange and seems to be getting worse at times. Really not sure what the problem is seems to have happened since I fitted the strutbrace but I can't fathom that that would cause such a problem to me.

On an 02 Polo tdi if it matters.

Anything I can check.

cheers

unless you've managed to mess up the mounting the brace doubt it would be that.

is your steering ok when driving normally? not powersteering problem?

i have a tdi with brace and mines fine going round corners fast, with help from left foot breaking

Well can't see I messed up fitting it, thats been one of the easiest jobs I've done. think its just conincidence really

Not sure if theres a PAS problem, makes a funny screeching sound on start up every now and again that must be to do with something but not sure what (PAS pump maybe). Have hooked it up to mates VAG.com and there was no errors. But want to get it sorted as its annoying for sure.

Yes drives fine normally, does sometimes do it when parking though, its just like the steering goes super heavy like the PAS cuts out.

Anything I can check.

This is what is said in Haynes:
"The fuild level must be between the MIN(or lower) and MAX(or upper) marks. If the fuild is cold(below 50 (Deg) C), it must be at least above the lower level mark or MIN. If the fluid is hot (above 50(Deg) C), it must not be above the upper level mark or MAX."

So how much fuild do you fill in then? :?

As my steering has started to make creaking noises on turns.....and when parking!

Checked the level of fuild and it is below MIN mark?? and the Car had not been driven for atleast hour and half but the engine was medium warm.......So I'd say it is below 50 (Deg) C.
