Jammed Cup Holder! Help!

Hey

Does anyone know how to jam the passenger side cup holder (to the left of the radio)?
Its jammed into the dash but I can pull it out about 1cm but that doesn't help.

Can someone give me some advice?
I could only find posts where people had yanked it out or punched it out and I'd rather avoid the good ol' brute force method

I am sure there is a little white clip you can just say see you need to press

happened to ours and got jammed in

we just phoned vw up and they changed it for a new one

they said to me it is a common prob

if you get something in the side to lever it, you can pull it out far enough to push the white button on the side of it, this releases the ratchet and you can pull it right out

yeh i had this a year ago, drove straight to the stealers and they replaced it under warranty.
