Just a quick one, i have a 95 1.3 CL, 107,000 miles, costs about 35 pounds to fill up and only gets about 225 miles off a full tank. Is this about average for a polo of this age?
Cheers, Grant

Oh right cool, yeh i have tried to drive in higher gears sitting at about 1 and 1/2 to 2000 revs, think i was used to a better mpg cause i use to drive a saxo which did about 330 miles on the same cost!

Re: Fuel Consumption
My 1.6 (1997) cost's around £35 to fill up and i can get 350 miles out if it but on an average around 300.
Re: Fuel Consumption
As has already been mentioned, it depends on a lot of factors. I've also got a 1.3 6n & because I do mostly short journeys to & from work, the car hardly warms up & I get 30ish to the gallon if i'm lucky! On a longer run I can easily get 40+
Re: Fuel Consumption
oh right, thats probably my problem, im often doing journeys only 5/6 miles eachway to my sixthform, and only really do about 15 miles eachway at weekends to work.
Re: Fuel Consumption
next time you fill tank up to the max just put in some redex fuel treatment, its only a couple of quid and helps petrol to get through engine quicker n tht
