Manual, wrong? agian ?

Post by DanW »

OK, so I'm bored so I'm looking through the Haynes' manual...

I've come accross the words power steering twice now  . It is just a load of BS, or were some special models like the beloved G40 Genesis fitted with it?

The heavyness of steering varies from car to car Ive found. The steering on the black one is really light even with the 185 tyres on it whereas the blue ones steering is really heavy.Anyway. there are a few general sections they chuck into evey haynes manual like the servicing shedule which would probably tell you to check the power steering fluid level but other than that I cant see them referring to power steering in a specific polo related chapter.

go take a look for how to check/top up the gearbox.... but ask someone to pop by and give you a nudge later on in case you end up in a loop of "see page xxx"....

it's full of various bits of nonsense and should only really be taken as a guide. plus the photo / diagram guides tend to only show the most useless and obvious stages of a process and miss out the tricky parts that you'll never find without an experienced grease monkey to guide your hand.

but......... its about all there is :(
