Thanks AwesomeGti

Post by whitegtipolo »

I just wanna say a big thanks to Awesome gti for sorting out my car today! I went in for 4 wheel alignment and the powerflex bottom arm bushes and cupra rears! I also told em i had a weird nocking noise when engaging gear! They did the bushes and tracking spot on, found the noise straight away! It turned out to be a faulty drive shaft hub end ! Turns out the previous garage has over tightened the hub nut stripping the shaft thread!!!!

But alan at awsome managed to source one for me and fit it the same day even though they were very busy! I was there from 1000 till 1630 yawn! But had a good laugh while i was there with the staff! The previous garage ended up paying the bill , but i would recommend awsome to anyone even if you have to travel 3 hours! They saved the day and did a great job and took care with my car while in the workshop! The car feels so much better now with the solid bushes and a wheel track its so responsive now and it brakes and put the power down loads better! I recommend anyone to do this upgrade !!

once again cheers to all at Awesome Gti

mine wiull be going back for it re doing after a little more frontal lowering, as i had some negative rake, only slight, but still not cool, so would it down a bit to get rid of it

now it will need tracking again

What you getting done jeff?

I got my tracking done on Wednesday but still not happy with it :( Thing is it wasn't scrubbing before i got it done, then when it got done it is! Gonna wind up my coiles and take it somewhere so they can put the gauge on top of the tyre then drop it back down. Dropping it wont affect the tracking again would it??

course it will kenny, you get it tracked then leave it alone

you will be getting scrubbing on the fronts as the negative camber will have been took away, leaving the tyre more square on the road, and also to the arch

kenny, all im doing is lowering mine more, thats it,

well, apart from the blue motion lower front bumper spoiler and the big rear brakes

Oh yes, adjusting the coil overs has the same affect as shortening normal springs - the linkage angles will change just the same - so that is what causes the camber to change and also toe-ing. You'd need some very expensive complex mult link suspension to avoid that - these little cars are designed with cheapness in mind.

i took my own cupra ones and they charged £219.83 alltogether including powerflex front bushes and fitting my seat ones and wheel geometry, great people and sorted it ! drives alot better believe me you can push braking alot more especially with the 312mm brakes and corner harder! also acceleration seems more controlled when booting it! :P :P rear arb is next for me! :P

been really good apart from the few teething problems spent alot in fuel this week LOL awsomes said all the wheel and camber bob on so the cars still straight, i just love how it handles now those weitech coilovers have made a massive difference and go alot lower than stated and whatever hight i set them they are still comfy! Also the 312mm brakes and yellow stuff pads have made a massive difference too! Im skint but happy! just need stage 2 should get it next month after plenty of OT at work!!!!! :P :P

Thing that is worrying me then is, i have it sitting at ther height i want it, and going by pics on here and on other forums is not sitting any lower than some. if i get my tracking done and it still scrubs!!! Or will the ppl doing it be able to set my tracking so irt doesnt scrub. the place am going to uses laser alignment on the comp etc. http://www.the-garage.co.uk/
