throttle body problems - rev issues?

Post by supermico »

I was just wondering... I don't think that this is normal: after I release the throttle pedal, the revs don't immediately drop but they remain on the same level for a short period of time and then they drop. It happens in neutral (when cleaning the throttle body and tapping the pedal) and while driving, making my shifting sound like my grandma's  For example, if I rev the engine in 2nd gear up to 4000rpm, the revs don't fall basically until I've already shifted into 3rd... I hope you understand.
Is it just me or is that really normal? If not, what could be the cause? Sticky throttle body? (I've cleaned it once with no result) TB misalignment? Or what? :?:
Oh, it's a 2000 1.4 16v (74kw) :D
