Im back with a new GTI

Post by theclient »

Hi Guys, had a 2000 (w) GtI two years ago and since then ive driven a mk4 polo 1.6 glx and a 1.8 gl auto mk4 golf, both due to the fact ive been living in Australia and in and out of work.

Anyway... im back in the UK for while so ive picked up another GTI.

Pretty clean 74k, FSH totally standard.

Wise move!! i crashed my GTi and replaced it with a 2001 Celica vvti, its a great car (celica) handles superbly, figures are identical to GTi figures i.e 0-60= 8.7 and a top speed of 127mph which was coincedential!!...HOWEVER, my love remains for the GTi...The GTi, is just something special that is hard to understand unless you have one, i miss it so much!! Just that priceless grin you have on your face, when you look at the front end of the car, then jump into it and switch it on!! It was by far my most favourite car ive had so far!! I think the only worthy replacement of the car is the MK5 Golf GTI, which im going to get in a year or two!!!..Sorry, kinda side tracked there!!!, moral of the story = Look after her!!!!!!!!!

Cheers guys, planning to keep it pretty standard as i like the 'improved OEM' look.

Ive added a s2000 aerial and some crystal indicators.

I'll be getting the cambelt, tensioners and water pump hopefully done at the weekend as the last owner claimed it was done about 10k ago.... :? better safe than sorry

Also will be getting the temp sensor and gearbox oil done at the same time, payslip permitting. These are things that probably aren't essential but id really like to get them out of the way under my ownership for peace of mind.

After that I could do with some nice drilled/grooved discs and some EBC pads and eventually a sachs clutch like my last gti.

Apart from that... its all good!
