Weird Noise

Post by scottishchris »

Good evening all,

Recently my polo has developed a rattle coming from the front of the car. It's occurs quite regularly and I'll list a few examples :

Yesterday when I started up the car it rattled and then again when I was reversing out of the drive. Earlier in the week I was going around a slight right hand bend, which is rutted/filled in pot holed around the outside, and it rattled for a good few hundred yards.

I think something is loose but I'm not sure what, the car also pulls to the left marginally (but enough to notice) and its not the tracking as it was done recently. The car will be going to a garage tomorrow as I've got a set of BBS RZ's to go on the polo, so I'll see if they will give the car a quick check.

Hopefully someone can shed a bit of light on the issue,

Cheers

Chris.

Car came back from the garage yesterday with its new wheels fitted, the guys checked the suspension but said everything was fine. The rattle noise is still with us though :( Furthermore the car has a new noise, this time coming from the steering wheel, sounding like its grinding everytime I turn the wheel - maybe a bearing?

Any thoughts?

if its the grinding like mine it could be grit and stuff behind the wheel. i know i need a new part on my wheel to do with my air bag but gonna cost about £200 so not done it yet.

is ur air bag light on?

No the light isn't on. Do you recommend I should give the steering wheel a spray with a can of air, then maybe WD 40?
