....what is everyones advice? What to look for, what to avoid etc etc?
Keep in mind I need want to keep insurance low (I'm only 21 with 2 years driving behind me and crashed my previous car)!

when you click on the mk5 section on this forum have a look at the top thread, its a list of common faults and that should be able to give you a idea of what to look out for!
all in all there brilliant little cars! i drive a 1.4 se and really couldnt be happier with it!
i think your on to a winner with a polo

Sure its not the fastest car, but its cheap insurance.

as you say your 21 and insurance is usually alot cheaper when you turn 21.

if i were you i would check some insurance sites for quotes.

try a GTi, if that is too high then try a 1.4 16V
