IPOD CONNECTOR HELP

have the factory option of ipod connection the the gti, does anyone no where to look for the box the ipod wire plugs in would be as i cant find it and its come out

I fitted mine myself, and the easiest place to put it was down in behind the climate controls.

Worst case senario - it may have fallen further back deeper into the dash.

Is the connection wired to the glove box? Can you follow the wire that is still connected to it?

yh its wired into the glove box by vw the wire that connects from the box to the ipod has come out thats y i dont no wear to find the box how did you get behind the climate control?

If I understand correctly.

You'll just need to remove the stereo and the box should be hanging from the back of the unit, by a ground wire(brown) and CD changer connection(black I think).

Stereo release keys can be got from ebay for a few quid, or a friendly auto electrics place may lend you them, if you don't already have them.

hmm iv seen the brown wire behind the stereo b4 dont remember anytink else

wish i could help but i dont quite understand ? are you saying its a factory fit ipod connector but you cant find it??

my car was fitted with one of VWs ipod connectors you can get as an option. the problem i have is that the wire that plugs into the actual ipod has come out of the box it is connected. i can plug the ipod into the wire but it does not do anything. i have removed the glove box and seen the other side of the wire which looks like it runs behind the stereo, when i pulled out the stereo i cannot see where it should plug into hopefully that makes a bit more sense mate

might have been removed did you buy it second hand?? and they left the plug in so as not to leave a hole??

na cars been owned from new my brother found it today. for those that have a polo and have an ipod connector the box for it is under where the stereo sits once you've pull out the stereo
