6n2 polo GTI gearbox getting noisy

hi,

Polo 6n2 GTI gearbox's.........are there many common problems??

My Wifes Polo's gearbox whines while accelerating and powering down, its starting to get noticably more noisy.

The clutch was done a couple of thousand miles ago and has had no problems. another thing I noticed is that sometimes you get slight feedback in the the gear lever and gear lever moves a bit when accelerating/decelerating.

anyone come accross this before?

I'm guessing the gearbox has had it?

Get it re-furbed ASAP mate or it wil be more of a costly bill when it goes bang! the cause of it is the pinyon bearing, and some seals not being replaced when the car was new so the box leaks oil and is never topped up. these boxes are really strong, they just need looking after.

Don't use the Pol anymore and get that box refurbished at once! Now it's still "saveable", keep on driving and you'll completely ruin it!
