Warning Light(s)
Right had a new clutch last week, and it seems to run perfect. But however couple days after the EPC light has popped up i havent a clue what this means, at first it stayed on for a short while then went off again, but it's constantly on and now the EML has came on too i disconnected the battery last night for 5 minuetes adn the EML went off until i started the car again. Can anyone shed some light please?
Edit; My car is due for a service (service light popped up saying OIL). Has that got to do with anything?

Quite positive that EPC is the engine management light?? Have no idea what EML is though..
Best bet is to find someone with vagcom

Will take a photo tonight.

Ha, I get what you meant now..6n2 Nathy wrote:sorry to confuse things.

I'm positive though that the 'EPC orange light' is the engine management light. And the 'Engine image saying 'check' orange light' is the emission/exhaust light.
As said though get VAGCOM onto the job..

ok thanks hunny.
Re: Warning Light(s)
The EPC light is something electrical its normally something like the brake light switch, the one that says check with which looks like a lightening bolt is the engine management light, normally a fault with either the spark plugs, HT leads, EGR valve, lambda sensor etc etc

Re: Warning Light(s)
Its basically a laptop with software that reads your VW's ECU and tells you what the problem is.

Re: Warning Light(s)
Dunno if you are available on Thursday night, i will be going to the Midsdubclub meet at:
Bassetts Pole
B75 5SA
7.30pm onwards
I will have a hand held fault code reader/reset tool with me there (not VAGCOM, but will point you in the right direction and can turn the light/s off if there is no underlying problem)
If that doesnt work, then your welcome to pop round to mine and i will whack it on the VAGCOM, but the hand held normally sorts it out fine 99% of the time.
