Mirror Glass broken

Post by TimGti »

Some idiot smashed the drivers side mirror glass on the polo today, squeezing through an immpossible gap going too fast (girlfriend was driving not me or I'd have chased them, feckers!).

Our Polo is a 1.4 Match so I guess they are not heated & from memory not blue tinted either? Just needs to be the type that fit onto the electric motor in the housing I think as the mirrors are leccy. Luckily the cover, housing & motor are all fine, just need new glass.

Question is, whats the difference in buying Gen VW glass or going to Halfruads to get a replacement? Anyone know the costs roughly too?

I remember replacing one on my MK4 golf but that was electric/tinted/ heated etc & was expensive so Im hoping for good news on the cost front guys...

Many thanks
Tim

Popped into the stealers today... £30  Such a con for a piece of glass

The ones in Halfruads are those crappy stick on ones for like £9 but not really helpfull as it a leccy one I need.

Chose not to buy from VW & keep an eye on ebay for time being. Scrappy might be an option if knew where a local one was
