S reg Polo 1.4

I know this sounds kind of strange but i have seen this happen to one other Polo and have no idea what it is.

I have noticed that with my polo from out of the back of the exhaust there is a hair like substance.
this morning when i parked up at car i noticed there was a very long trail of it, almost 6 ft in length still attatched
and protruding from the exhaust.
i say it's hair cause thats what it resembles, it's kind of grey/black and has consistency of hair.
any thoughts as to what it is and how its happening?

If it's S reg you're in the wrong section mate, you want to post this in the Mk4 section! No idea what the problem could be tbh, never heard of it before!

That's just the baffling mate, the sound deadening. It won't affect the actual functionality of the exhaust, just make it louder.

well actually i think i may have been able to find out what the issue is.
it could well be that the rear silencer has collapsed and the wool inside is now prolapsing through the exhaust.
i been told that it would require changing the rear section of the exhaust.

As Tim mentioned above its the baffling coming out of the exhaust. The functionality isn't really compromised so there isn't a rush to change it.
