Respray and smoothing

Post by stuart1903 »

Putting my car in to get accident damage repaired (new drivers wing, part of sill replaced, repair passenger wing and drivers door remove a couple of dents) and a respray down both sides for £500, probably just going to get the back done aswell.

Been thinking about asking the guy to just remove the rear badge and smooth it, and also smooth all the bumper strips, how much more do you think he would charge?

well as a guideline my smoothed bumpers and a sil repair cost 350. from experience smoothing the doors averages at about 300-500.

i would've thought an extra 300-400 or so on top of your quote would be realistic, judging by your initial price. all depends on the shop tho and how they do it! they'd have to plate weld the holes in the doors, and preferably plastic weld the bumpers.
