Help with rear lights, can't decide.

Post by Craney »

Ok i purchased regrettably some lexcus lights as i wanted some clear ones to match the rest of the car.
BUT i think these don't look to great so what do you guys advise?
Spray over these in black or put the old ones back on and spray them tinted? As it's the orange indicator part i don't like.
Cheers

Sell the Lex-arse lights. And either tint the originals (difficult to get a good finish), get a set of 16V lights or a set off a mk5 6n2 (the red ones!)

Go to your local scrappy, they were fitted to all mk5's, so will be plenty around. Just rare & expensive on ebay!

Use a site like http://www.carsparefinder.co.uk/ or http://www.breakeryard.com/ to find somewhere that has got them & will quote a price delivered, all done online so quick & simple! :D

But the red ones are soo common now. See so many people after them or already have them. Get them tinted. I got mine done properly and they were heated and treated. look awesome but Cost me £60 but it's different.

definately stay away from mk5 red rear clusters, definite yawn every time we see them on a mk4 now, get them tinted or get 16v lights, easy to find if you look in the right places

I think i will try and tint them myself.
I agree and the fully red wouldn't go to well anyway i don't think.

Get the mark 5 rear ones. They're not rare at all they pop up all the time.

Alot of people have them, but IMO they are one of the those mods that every 6N owner has to do, no better alternative.

I had LED clusters, which ain't as hidious as Lexarse lights. I still found them a bit blingy so tried customising them.

They had about 17 coats in total but I tinted them red, black and then laquar. Created the VW emblem so it remained original red. Looked pretty sweet but I prefered the more OEM standardish look so got myself a set of mk5 clusters :P

I still have the LED clusters I don't use and my old set of 16v's which were also tinted blood red.

I admit mk5 clusters are common on 6ns but like Tim said there's a reason for it. Maybe get yourself a set and try something different with them
