Is anyone running a de-cat on their gti, and if so, what kind of power gains you get from it ??

Ross (Rossco) ran one when he used to have his. Won't make much of a difference on it's own in terms of performace. Effects the sound more.

ive got a de-cat and i cant say that ive notised it affectinf fuel economy

Have u just de-cat the original system and change the back box and kept the original manifold??

Noise difference much?

ive got a raceland manifold, de-cat and a custom exhaust with a twin round exit backbox. also running a bmc.According to other folks it is rather loud

Yeah thats what i am going to be doing i have the raceland all prepped but if you look at my post about fitting it, there is another little bit on the last manifold pipe i think its a temp sensor??

I also have a viper cold air feed so should be loud lol!!

i know the bit you mean. the guy that fitted it just blanked off the hole

so i deffo dont need that then mate?

Have u also exstended ur lambda sensor wire, and if so did u just exstend the wire by cutting into it and running more wire?

yeh ive not had any problems with the hole being covered. iv just left the lambda tucked up at the moment. doesn't seem to be causing any problems not having it connected

u really need it connected tho mate, car doesnt know whats going on and fueling and o2 sensors wont communicate with each other! Id get it connected up pal, so u plugged the lambda sensor aswell?
