That looked class Alex!

Ok, So it's been a while since I posted but I have some updates and a couple more questions (no pics as yet)

I've ordered some fog lights, i have a set of fog grilles, i have a GTI grille on the car now and I'm waiting on the lower centre grille to arrive now too along with the switch for the fogs... I'll post a pic when i get it all on the car :)

With the fog lights though, from what I've read I know i need to get some screws, washers and clips from the dealer... anyone got any part numbers for that?

gonna be fitting some parts this evening...

Can anyone help me out? I'm having some trouble getting the wire for the fog lights, i can see it and it seems to be attached to something but how do I remove it (safely) without wrecking the wires/connection or something else?

Also, how would I go about removing the existing... thing? and then fitting a GTI splitter?

:D

thanks in advance!

It unclips (its plugged into a blank) just push on the connector and itll pop off.

As for the splitter, you need the bumper off ideally. Work from one side to the other being gentle, but firm pulling it out clip by clip

Thanks Alex, i'll have a go at that in a bit. With my AEF engine, the air filter housing is a bit in the way so it's slightly tight for space but I'm sure i'll manage.

As for the splitter, what about jacking the car up, is that helpful at all? I have neither the know how or tools to remove the bumper :?

*EDIT* the 2 screws on the wheel arch liner, they need to come off first?

It will come off if you jack the car up, depends how much patience you have though. ideally you'd want to take the bumper off, but you may find it OK without.

yes the two screw on each side need to come first.

had a go at the splitter, can't quite get the last clip in on one side.. it's almost like it's not long enough. Any advice?

Hit the splitter with a rubber mallet in the middle. The splitter has to be fully inserted all over before it will clip in at the corners
