Central locking help please!

Post by Pleb »

Hi all, my central locking/alarm is annoying me.
Sometimes it wont lock or unlock using the keyfob even though the batteries are new. If it doesnt unlock, i have to unlock the passenger side door (drivers side is seized) and sometimes it sets the alarm off.
Also, after a drive it randomly wont lock. To stop this i have to turn the ignition on and off again or even have to start the car again before it will lock!

What could be wrong?

P.s the drivers side door switch doesnt work well/at all either - could that be the problem?

Thanks

I have ongoing problems with mine also. I found if it plays up and you can't get in to turn the key in the door to the locked position, then unlock it with the fob. that way it doesn't se the alram off, that seems to bump the fob to life.

Thanks, yeah thats what i have found also. Annoyingly my drivers side lock is seized so if i park next to a wall (as i often do) I cant get to the passanger side door haha

Anyway, Ive started to use my other key and havent had another problem since! I guess its something to do with the fob/dodgy batteries.

Ah fair enough. It's a problem which I've just gotten used to now. If you need to though, you can switch the locks over pretty easily? Just need to unscrew the screw in the doorshut by the handle, and pop the handle forward.
