Why are all the nice wheels 17inch?

Hey guys. I'm looking around and I see loads of nice alloy wheels for my Polo but when I go to sizes all the nice ones start at 17inch. I don't want my car looking like its on stilts and got big massive wheels - does anyone know of a place / website that sells some nice 16 inch wheels? I LOVE some of the official Volkswagen ones that people use on their Polo's but they're always on GTi's and these are lower and suit them more.

Any help would be great.

Well I want to keep it standard and not mess with any of the hidden workings of the car to be honest

It's also less pricey to just change the wheels - I would really like a nice set of 16inch wheels with low profile tyres. I'll check out the suggestions and if anyone else has any please share your websites and what not.

17s arnt much different in terms of how they luk or drive. there actually the right size for the car and allow you to do much more with it. bigger brakes etc.

In my honest oppinion, you aren't going to get a set of wheels really looking nice on a Polo without altering the stance.

I'd love to lower it but I quite like the ride as it is and it would be too pricey coupled with the price of the wheels.

Does anyone have any photo's of a standard Polo with 17 inch alloys? Maybe it doesn't look so bad?

That gap looks alright to me. . . but I'm a standard Polo so mine is going to be quite a bit higher than your GTi.
