Help!

I lowered my mk4 on springs with stock shocks and now i cant get the tracking right, and the camber on the tires is wearing them 2 quick, new tires lasted a month, any advise to help with these problems apart from taking the springs back off? lol thanksss

How much ave u lowered it? I lowered mine 40mm and managed to adjust the tracking easy. Get the tracking gauges on and adjust each side evenly (make sure ya steeriung wheel is straight first.) then after its adjusted take it down the road and make sure the steering is straight. if not remove the steering wheel and straighten it up.

Have you made any adjustments to the tracking? If not, jack up the front of the car (both sides) and from the front of the car look down the outside of the wheels to see where they line up compared to the rear tyres. Take the car off the jacks, bounce it a couple of times to get the shocks at their normal height and look down the sides of the front wheels again. Compare where they are pointing to now with where they were pointing when they were back at normal height. Adjust both tie-rod ends equal amounts to get the wheels pointing back to where they were pointing and you should be right.

Or look at someone else's Polo to see where the wheels should line up and make sure your car is the same.

Or take it for a wheel alignment.

Personally I would take it to someone who can use laser alignment on it to get it done properly.

thanks for the posts guys! i lowered it 50 mm front and back took it to a guy at quick fit, and he put it on the ramp and had the laser gear on it and said it was off the scales and didnt even try doing it (he was a bit of a d**k, i have spoken to a guy in another garage and im going to have it done after my MOT:(

another thing, is there such a thing as anti camper shims? i know theres camper shims for super low cars??

Do you mean camber shims?

Camber shims can alter the camber both negative and positive. So Yeh you could put them on the rears to straighten them out. But to be honest I wouldn't worry, I've had noticable negactive camber on the my rears for over a year now, and havn't had problems with the tyres wearing down fast. It's the fronts you want to be careful with.
