your guide to change engine oil is wrong
Dont start your car, before changing oil, let the car cool down not complelty cool, give it 10minutes or so, and all the oil from the top of the block will drain into the sump(you will be draining this) and the oil wont be HOT! and your supposed to change the sump plug+washer too.

no need to change oil plug if it is good, washer should be change...

My sump bolt wont budge i jacked rear of car up and removed filter. Could only get about a litre of oil out.

Best to use a suction device down the dipstick in that case then
