Short shift.... will this one work?

Post by tegwin »

Anyone know if this short shifter will fit?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-Beetle-Se ... 286.c0.m14

I believe the audi A3 and ibiza cupra use the same linkage, so .... this one might just work in the polo?

B&m Shifter with product code 45106 is the correct one for the Polo GTI

1996-99 Audi A3
1998-99.5 VW Beetle
1998-99.5 VW Cabrio
1993-99.5 VW Golf/GTI/Jetta VR6
1993-97 VW Passat VR6

The application list on the ebay short shifter is pretty similar but not sure if its correct. The B&M 45106 is not suitable for the MK4 golf, its only suitable for the MK3. As the one in the ebay link IS suitable for the MK4 golf I would think its not suitable for the Polo GTI. I could be wrong though

Hmm... the B&M one does look a lot better..... Is there anywhere that actually sells them though?

Yeah Venom Motorsport and Demon Tweeks both sell them but you will be in for a shock with the price

Mine cost £150 for Venom last month but I think the list price is around £170.00 (that includes VAT)

I think I got a small discount because I ordered Brake pads & discs + Coilovers at the same time.

Some places might do them cheaper but if you can find 5 or 6 people to do a group buy then you might save yourself £50-60.
