Glove compartment

Post by dash »

Hey guys, newbie here with a quick question for y'all

I got my first car a couple of weeks ago, a 1999 Polo Match 1.4 CL. My main niggle with it is that I seem to have sacrificed a glove compartment for the passenger airbag, with just a small cubby hole under the airbag at the moment.

I was looking through the user manual a few days ago, and noticed that they've actually pictured a lockable compartment under the airbag! Is it possible for me to order one of these and use it to replace the cubby hole myself? At the moment its pretty useless, things always falling out etc.

Thanks

Maj

Hmm appears not :(

Has anyone done a DIY mod or is there a third party part available?

AFAIK there's no third part part available, but there are cars in Germany that have fitted this cubby/glove box. I'll try and find some more info on a German site, I haven't done it myself so I can't really help out any further.
