I dont know if you read the Golf Magazine, but Prash Thakkers Mecarto Blue Polo in the February 2004 edition is sporting a jap-style custom cat-back Powerflow exhaust and its the mutts :D its a three inch and imo suits the car more than a five.

My scanner is playing up at the moment but I'll keep trying, or you could try www.thegolf.co.uk.

Good luck mate and post me a pic when you've decided

Well, it's done!!! I now have a beautiful 4.5" tipped custom powerflow exhaust!!! Was gona go for a jap box, but it would have had to sit too low, below the bumper. Instead i got them to make me a custom one with the jap sytle tip and it sits higher up the bumper! It sounds awesome once the car is a bit warm. Think it'll take a week or two while it starts to fully kick in. Nice burble from it when the car is idle  8)

I'll be putting up some pics soon of the exhaust.

P.S. My peco back box will soon be put up for sale. I don't care what anybody says about peco, cos the one have did its job well!!! Been polishing it recently to get back to its shiny self.

Thanx boys for the help

appologies for jumping on the end of this topic. but the original exhaust on my 2001 tdi pd 75bhp is going to be kaput in the next few weeks.

i am loath to buy a vw one and was looking for a specialist one (such as stainless for the lifetime warranty they have). the places i have looked (scorpian magnex etc.) dodnt seem to list diesel cars but they must be available.

i had heard that the tail pipes have to be the right profile to achieve the correct back pressure for the diesel but i dont know if it is true.

can anyone point me in the right direction.

thanks

just go to a custom exhaust place.. they will do whatever you wish... noisy, quiet, 7" round  etc...
