staley333 wrote:it was lloking good until the tape mate, your making it look really takky and the sticker in the windscreen is giving the wrong message, keep it clean and you will be ok, you may as well put m3 mirros on it cos this thing is going to be really chavvy if you do it like the virtual, please dont smoke the indicators and not the headlights aswell and the bad boy bonnet look is starting to get old. other than that mate good job its a good start just dont ruin it now

p.s. i hope you know the pressed plates are illegal

Mate at the end of the day i appreciate the comments but i do know what im doing. Everyone who has seen the car, and not just any people. fellow dubbers, think that the tape looks good. The tape on the fuel cap has gone and the roof and fuel cap are now gloss black. The headlights are gona be black angels, and the bonnet is never done these days, cant remember when i last saw one. Intention was never to smoke the headlights, just couldnt be bothered to do angels in the chop.

p.s. i obviously know the plates are illegal.

hey come on now ppl, stop biatching at one another, the cars coming along nicely mate, but as said certain ppl just have different taste, IMO i dont mind the tape tht much just dont use too much :P lol
i would colour code or gloss black the handles, the original ABS look aint too hot but yea good plans for the car then.
also i would get different wheels rather than spraying the originals black... maybe a set of wellers... look em up :) you'll like em i think, in gloss black.

Nah afraid i aint passed my test yet failed a couple of times :( Ye cheers for the comments i like the tape, like you said, something different! Im personally bored of 16v bumpers all round and mk5 rears, i like to break the mould (ye i know ive got a 16v front!). I know the bonet splits opinions but to be honest thats one of the appeals of it. As i said, i like to be different and stand out. My brother says you need a stand out point of your car (he has a mk5 front bumper on his mk4 and a vinyl'd roof) and that is kinda what the tape is for. im pleased with progress, as i said, not driving yet so no real rush.

what did you use to tint the back lights? I want to tint them slighty but not too much but sort of make them a shade darker because I have the original lights! :D

bought them like that mate! can get tinting spray tho, then can make them as darks as you like, or 16v lights are smoked as standard.
