It was all really straight forward, only hassle was getting the A pillar trims out, they're a bit of faff where they meet the dash, but give it patience and they will come out.

I was going to paint stuff (cheaper) but I figured there was no way of doing it cleanly and it not smelling after or being in risk of chipping etc (I'm sure you've got your own ways of doing it though), so I'm trimming everything in black suede, and getting the handles etc OEM black from VW.

It arrived today son! I've just cut all the materials to size, gunna iron it now then get cracking on the smaller pieces. I won't get it all done today as I'm out by 2. I'll definitely need help with the roof mind!!

Will have to pop round to see the mirrors 8)

Clena car.
Compos really suit it.
I might be having to use that idea for the front plate. Bit unsure where to run mine (got no recess haha) Is it actually illegal to run the plate in the window??
How did you make it??

cheers mate, yeh it is illegal it has to be on the furthest most point of your car.

i made with everything from B&Q! there's a guide in the DIY section (called B&Q plate mount or something). i would link you but i'm on my internet phone.

UPDATE the interior is offically all black suede and fitted, all pillars tweeter trims and roof. all the pillars are perfect but the roof hasn't stuck properly, so thats coming back out and i'm going to try something different. my rocker cover is also done. pictures of all to follow!

Good job Tim! Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I think it'll make quite a difference, I like the black headlining in the Lupo GTi, new Polo GTi and even the Skoda Fabia vRS. Why didn't we get it in our 6N2 GTis? :(

Tim, did you have to take the rocker cover completely off? Heard a strange story that you have to take out the cams aswell. I'd like to repaint it too. Car is lookin awesome!

Cheers mate, No you don't have to remove the rocker cover, I just masked it up and stripped it down with Nitromors and a flat screwdriver.

I'll update with with recent pics soon, it's just I've been to Reading Festival, and will be going to Brighton for a few days tomorrow.
