Hey, Im pretty new to the car modding scene, and would just like a few tips and pointers..
Ive got a 2001 1.4 special edition match. and im looking for some cheap/free mods.
ok heres a list of questions..
1. How do i get the rear VW badge off, is it easily replacable (i want a black one).
2. In car lighting, tacky or cool? If so, with red and black seats and a few blue illumination on the dash.. what colour should the footwell and lamp be? red or blue?
3. Has any one used this aerial? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHROME-CAR-AERIAL ... 031wt_1167 Not sure if the chrome will look stupid, or it will look like a stupid shark fin..
4. What else have you guys done for the interior styling? im thinking of a chrome gear stick surround, but again, im not sure if it would look like sum cheap ass "ripspeed" job.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Richbrook-Chrome- ... 2185wt_934
I think thats all i have for now..
If you can think of any other mods, i know of the rear wiper, but any others you can think of would be a great help. thanks.
Lewis.
A couple of Questions.
Re: A couple of Questions.
First off welcome to the forum mate!
i've had blue neons under the footwells in the past which i personally really liked, then again i know others would disagree!
other cheap modifications could include de wipering the rear - very easy job if you want any info pm me total cost £0.50p
perhaps paint the tweeter covers? also easily done
or even paint the roof lining?
the vw badge so i understand is fairly easily removed and a guid could be found on here with the search function. you can then either buy a blackening kit from ebay to get rid of the chrome or just paint it yourself as lots do! once the badge is apart why not color code the black plastic bit behind too?

Re: A couple of Questions.
Cheers mate!. Thanks for the ideas.
First part ordered (altho its standard) haha! An aerial base rubber seal, when i bought it, it was missing lol.
i was thinking of doing the tweeter covers, but i didnt want the black to look alot different from the rest of the black in the car.

Re: A couple of Questions.
Personally I'd steer clear of anything aftermarket chrome like aerials gearknobs etc...
If you want interior styling, I'd go with colours that compliment the car better, gloss black on certain plastics? black fabric?
