Introducing myself and car.

Post by Bradley »

Hey all my name is brad,im fairly new to the forum.I bought a Polo 6N2 GTI a couple of months back now and thought i'd introduce myself.

I viewed quite a few of these and almost lost hope in finding a good condition one.The car was completely standard when i bought it,had one previous owner and full VW dealership service history with a mere 23,000 on the clock.I went a viewed the car the night it came up for sale and bought it.

Ive done a few tiny bits to it but nothing out of the ordinary yet.

Red grill piping.
Green cotton panel filter.
Wheel refurb.
Audi TT pedal covers.

Heres some pictures of my minor progress.

The car when i got it home.

The first small mod i added was the red grill piping.

As with every GTI i viewed the wheels let it down but being into the oem style i had the BBS lips refurbed and bought some new centre caps.
This wheel was affected most.

New centre caps and i also resprayed the metal locking nut cover on each wheel

The final result.

The Audi Pedal covers.

Ive plans for other bits and peices but still want to keep it oem looking.Suspension will be on the list soon,im going to have a good look around first.Hope to maybe meet you guys at some shows and events.

Thanks for looking

Nice Car Mate, welcome to the forum 8)

Looks like you've done a decent job with the wheel refurb, what else have you got planned for the Polo?

Thanks for the positive comments 8) .

Not sure whats planned really to be honest i bought a new aerial,it's the same as the one on them as standard just about 15cm's shorter.I couldn't find an Enfig model.Id like to lower the car looking around 60mm or so but im going to have a good look around and not follow the trend of buying cheapo coilovers and get something worth while.

Sounds like a good plan with the lowering and 60mm will be plenty low enough.
As far as coilovers are concerned your spoilt for choice really because there are so many different brands out there.
The AP and Weitec Coilovers are very good affordable coilovers which cost in the region of £350 for the set but your looking at an extra £200+ for higher quality brands such as KW, SPAX, EIBACH etc

I got lucky with mine because I managed to get a set of SPAX RSX fully adjustabable coilovers for £500 from Venom Motorsport but that was a special offer. KW are a great option but are in the £600 bracket.
