Back to the roots.... but 16v it!

Post by racerjonzo »

Hey people been here for a while on and off...

first of all i had a 6n 1.0 3dr in Flash Red starting 'Dubbin' it up but it was annoying with such low power, great for go-karting but not decent acceleration etc,
anyway my dad took it off me, and i went for a Mk5 Golf 1.6 Sport alot more power, sitting at 115Bhp so its more useable aswell with power steering etc etc,
anyway basicly ive dubbed the golf, lowered it, smoothed bumpers, gti monza alloys and even a little edition 30 tartan on the inside :)

basicly i was thinking... the golf is a little too expensive to be playing about with IMO, as anything you want to do seems to take a big chunk out of my wages,
so i went back to my roots, but decided to get more oomph :D
some pics of polo and golf :)

so i got myself a nice little 16v to play about with

i was hunting for a good while to get a cheapish one so it wouldnt cost too much, and i did...
anyone wanna guess how much?
heres some pice to help you :) (price is under pics :P lol )
polo is actually a dark blue, though looks black in these pics, will get some newer ones once i give it a good clean and tidy up.

i was meant to be heading down on saturday to get it... but apparently it started overheating after a little while..

so the guy towed it to my house and lowered the price...

got it ALL for £300!

took the temp. sensor out and it ran fine.

now though the oil lights coming on, its got enough oil in it, and im almost 99% sure its not oil pressure, any thoughts?

also ideas for engine modding to maximise power, as i could never do it in a 1.0L before

Cheers JonDo

Best car so far if you ask me. Tidy motor, although the price would worry me!

That does look quite tidy!!! But for £300 you'd expect a few things not to be right!!! Even if its a bugger to sort, just strip it down for parts as the body work and other little bits would surely fetch £300+
