What front bumpers fit on Polo 6N without too much hassle?

Post by Drakelet »

This was my car:

Now, imagine that, but without the front bumper. That is now my car.

As I don't have one, I thought I could put something different on. I assume the default 6N would fit (and I may very well go for that), and I hear the 6N2 one will without too much hassle (correct?). Will any others from other vehicles fit? My budget is limited, and I don't have hundreds of hours of fitting time. That said, something abnormal could be fun and would stand out.

It's the 1996 Polo 6N1 1.4 SE.

The one pictured is a 16v bumper. You can also get an 8v which is the cheaper, easier to get hold of and in my opinion the better one.

6N2 bumper is hassle, you've basically got to chop it down and plastic weld it to a 16v one. Not something that can be done on a budget.

Or you could change the whole front end to a 6N2 front. Again, more money.

Just go with the 8v IMO, and smooth out the numberplate recess 8)

ive heard the seat ibiza front end fits on with little hassle, not sure but i have seen one with it on.

again youd had to look into which is right for you, then look at your budget and see if it all adds up :)
ld make it fit better,
if your going to be plastic welding bumpers you could look at similar size cars, and plastic weld the bumper onto the top bit of an 8v bumper, which hence would make it fit better, but as Tim said, it all costs money and time.
