Rear Screen Wash

Just bought a 2000 reg Polo 1.4 16v about a couple months ago, and just found out the rear screen washer doesn't work! At first, it just dribbled out all over the door lock, but now no longer works at all. Is this an easy fix or one for the mechanic? Have even bought the haynes manual for info about the pump system but no luck. Thanks in advance guys, Declan.

Its either leaking inside the boot where it joins to the washer itself, or itll be leaking behind the passenger side rear seat under the trim panel where there is a join that often splits. Take a look in the boot, and failing that, look in the other place and you should be able to fix it

Or de-wiper the rear & you wont need to use the rear washer!!

mines very poor u have to hold it down then liek 5 seconds later it will spray out but only just its very poor cant work out why tho :s

Same thing happened to mine
but alexperkins is on the dot.

mine was really really weak. so me and the boyfriend flushed some hot water thru thinking it might be blocked.
but he could smell the old screen wash towards the back of the car.
took the lining off the back door on the passenger side and found it had come apart. easy enough to fix. the two tubes just push into each other. then i just had to mop up all the liquid under the seat.
after the it went into over power mode and would spray water really powerfully and high. back to normal now tho.
works perfectly.
