Polo 6n squeaky sound

Hey guys was wondering if anyone can help with this one. My 1998 1.6 6n has been making a really annoying squeaky noise for about 3 months that appears to be coming from the rear. I tryed to locate the source of the squeak but had no luck so took it to my local garage were he took about 10 mins to discover it was coming from the plastic fuel tank which he said had become warped and was rubbing on its mounts causing the sound. He said the only solution was to replace the fuel tank but anything to do with a vw in NZ is really expensive to fix and the cost of doing this was outragous, so i was wondering if anyone on the forum had run into this problem before and knows of a cheaper solution? Took the car to a VW specialist who found out it wasnt the fuel tank after all was just the back seats needed adjustment and lube. Fixed! J

I was going to say, a warped fuel tank is a bit odd
