Question for 0-100kmph

Post by P0l0_GTi »

I am wondering for few questions.
I have made tests with DriftBox and the results are 0-100kmph for 7.8s (2 tries 7.8s). For information i have chip and airfilter.
I couldnt make 100kmph on second gear, it went on third gear 100. The limit of second gear went for 97kmph and its around 7s or less. Does anyone know is it possible somehow 100kmph on second gear ?
For 400m i couldnt register a time  may be its around 16.5 or less ?

Why do you want to do 100kph in 2nd gear?... do you hate your engine that much?

To answer your question.... fit larger diameter tyres... that way you will manage 100kph! will take you a bit longer to get there mind you!

Apparently the GTI will hit 63MPH in 2nd gear which is roughly 102KPH but mine reaches about 61 maximum before I have to change.

What BHP is your car running p0lo_GTi???? with a chip & air filter its probably 135-137 maximum so 7.8 seconds is not bad at all.

On paper its 0-60 in 8.4 seconds and 0-100kph (62mph) in 8.7 seconds so I wouldnt complain with 7.8

Dont know how much bhp the car is. But i am pretty satisfied for this time bcoz i didnt expect it. The car have few more little things which depends too. The next thing is gonna be the manifold custom pipes, which i hope will increase enough the power in the high rpm. The question was if it somehow is poss 100kmph in second gear i think around 7.2s it will be the time ! I thought 100kmph are poss in second gear on catalog numbers. Or every polo gti can make no more then 60mph.

I doubt he will reach 137bhp from a panel filter and a chip, ud need massive time and upgrades to reach that figure lol!

I get 65 in second no probs, dunno what time but it goes up pretty quick with a manifold, de-cat and a carbon fibre viper induction cold air feed, with no seats in rear and fully stripped out down about 85mm!

I rekon i got 130bhp tops! but 0-60 i dunno, probs 7.5! dunno lol!

Most chips give between 10-12BHP gains so 137BHP would not be impossible but its probably nearer the 135 mark. If he's getting 0-60 times in 7.8 seconds then it must have a few more BHP than standard unless its a stripped out car.

Re-Map/Chip, Manifold, De-Cat, Stainless Exhaust and an Induction Kit should give between 139-142BHP.

65 in second gear! Jesus :D

Are you sure your speedo is correct? or does the manifold & de-cat really make that much differnece?

Dont think your speedmeter is correct. For sure use G-tech or at least GPS navigation to check your correct speed. On my speedmeter it shows 101kmph with the normal size tires but it is 97kmph

Dont know how to check the speedo but i take it they never go wrong??????

Iv deffo seen results but i have yet to get it rolling roaded, all my mods need to be tied together with a remap and rolling time really, but yeah 65 in second is easily reached, i dont wana go anymore at all! might go bang if i do :?

The speedo's are only really out if you change the wheel size on your car without fitting the correct tyre size but I think your running on 15" BBS RXII's so yours should be fine. 65 in second is pretty impressive really, not seen anybody achieve that before.
Mine gets to about 61 and just wont go anymore :P

Can't wait to get mine re-mapped. I still havent got the manifold fitted but it is finally booked in to be done now :D
Raceland with a Power Flow full De-Cat system and then Re-mapped

Sorry but an extra 10bhp from a remap is ridiculous

On a small n,a engine like the GTI's you would get 2 or 3 max from a remap

And in terms of the speedos they are out, they always show faster than your going, get a tom tom and it says the true speed, on mine at 30mph on the speedo tom tom says 28

but at 90mph its about 9mph out which is a massive ammount!

dont belive what you see on the old speedo

2 or 3 ? sry man but its proven that you can get 2 hp only with sport air filter. And the difference between sport panel filter and sport air filter its not much  Spark plugs from 1 to 2 hp and etc... things that i have been made in the begining, and i can tell u for sure the diference is feeling in every thing i have changed

Totally agree with p0l0_Gti a remap will give alot more than 2 or 3 bhp!

Dont get me wrong N/A Engines wont get alot of power gains from a re-map but 8-10 BHP power gains have been proven.

Have you ever seen the results for a Mini One re-map - 90Bhp standard straight to 125BHP with the Map thats a 35BHP gain on a N/A engine and this has been proved by P-Torque. This runs the same engine as the cooper but has alot less power from standard. Cooper has 115bhp as standard and when re-mapped achieves 125bhp so +10 gain. Whereas the Mini one will shoot straight up to 125 because the factory settings are de-tuned.

There are Polo GTI's on here running 140-142 BHP that have been re-mapped so there's no point trying to say you will only get 3BHP when its been proven you can get more than that,

Exhaust, Induction Kit & Manifold will give very little gains maybe 5 to 6bhp maximum but a custom map from a respectable tuning company will give you 10bhp gain, perhaps 11 or 12 if your lucky. Doesnt do your gearbox any favours though

Pretty happy Science today i am with custom manifold 4-1. And now for sure i go for under 7.8s. The bigest sensitive advantage is from 5000 to 7000rpm and its worth it
