GTI Xenon Headlight Tint

I have not posted anything up here before so..Hellloo Everyone!!

Got a question about tinting the Gti xenon headlights using the oven method. I have not seen anybody do this, im pretty sure i read somweher that there is a reason for this but that was a while back and i can't find that thread anymore. So If there is a reason could some one outline it for me please? before i go and do something stupid hehe..

What colour do you want to tint them?

If you want to make them a nicer blue, fit 6000K or 8000K bulbs... you should not, atall, ever, try and tint the actual lenses on the lights... for a start the tint will deflect the light and could dazzle other traffic, making the lights ilegal...

If you want to tint the headlights, check out Fly Eye Tint kits. These are the folks I've just got my yellow foglight tinting kit from, via their eBay shop.

Here is a link to Briskoda (no account needed to view the thread) where a forum member tinted his rear lights. You can easily apply the same stuff to your headlights:

Tegwin, I was talking about the mods that have been done when u put the headlights in the oven to take the lens off then spray the back silver part black.

yeah thats rite...i had just never seen anybody do that before!. I just thought i had read somewhere on here before that there was a reason why nobody did it. Thats great though Si_Gti thanks alot for that mate i mite just have to get on with it and do it now hehe
