Basically i'm looking at replacing the speakers in my polo 1.2
As the ones i currently have are terrible
I'm looking at installing these

You won't get better sound with those unless you're running a different head unit or amp. The reason is that the stock speakers are of a different impedance to aftermarket ones so they always have more bass than low-end component speakers because they're matched to the VW head unit.
You want 6-6.5" component speakers but I wouldn't bother until you can amp them properly.
The best upgrade is a subtle small sub in the boot, then you can lower the amount of bass to the fronts, up the volume and get a better fill of sound.
Personally I'd look for (at a minimum) Alpine Type-R components or above, but 2nd hand you can probably find them for £40 upwards.
