Metal part next to rear exhaust box

I noticed on the Polo that next to the rear silencer, there is a metal sheet that flaps about when driving. I can not see anything in the Haynes manual that shows that.

Is there anything next to the exhaust like a heatshield or so, or is this just an outer layer of the exhaust box itself that came away?

Interesting enough, the supplying dealer has a work sheet that shows that the exhaust was inspected / approved as well (well, there is a tick box next to it). Unfortunately, the dealer is 45 minutes drive away so a bit annoying to just pop down.

There is a heat shield above the exhaust if thats what your asking mate

The heatshield is the silver bit above. What you are talking about was part of your exhaust mate - time for a new one!
