This is waht happend last saturday 24th oct.....Only owned my polo gti in black for 6 months.

Okay, was driving home from work in the rain, came to a medium sharp bend, took it slow- then i hit the diesel on the road.....car went into a spin, started going side ways down the road, clipped the curb went into a roll- finished in a ditch. upside down. Me and my mate managed to crawl out before it started flaming ( luckily the heavy rain took care of this ). most amazing thing is we were both completely unscathed... and i think this goes to show what bloody good strong cars polo gtis are. I owe it my life is what the policeman said!

here are some pictures:

I will certainly miss my gti! and my excess is ridiculous so i will probably only get about a grand for the car. I'd only owned it since April and had spent so much time and money on it- was my prdie and joy :( However Admiral are giving me the car back- so watch this space as i'll probably be breaking the lot in the coming weeks.

I just see it in the large upside down pic where it looks just dented with a small crack. Never mind.

Yeah the front splitter was completely destroyed after they dragged it onto the recovery truck :( - annoying as these and the rear spoiler are so sought after.

Will begin breaking it when i hear back from the insurance company to confirm they don't need to send anyone to inspect it- should hear from them tommorow.
As a rough guide so far the following big things will be available:

Engine ( after new sump fitted)
Gear box ( fitted may 2008)
Seats
Door cards
Dash and all interior trim pieces
Steering wheels with airbag
Refurbed bbs wheels
Central locking pump

along with all the other little bits, will post a more detailed list in the breaking thread i'll make, pretty much everything apart from the body panels will be up for grabs

What parts are you after mate?

Geeez!! That looks pretty bad. At least you and your mate are fine. Goes to show that for a small car they hold up pretty well!
