just fitted my BMC CDA kit!!

Post by jon_poloV »

I have just fitted a BMC CDA induction kit to my 1.4 8v polo. there is only one word to describe this kit. MAD. its loud and looks anazing under the bonnet. It has a really deep groawl. i had heard from people they were good and i thought yep i bet they are ok but you just would not belive how good till you try one for yourself! :D it took quite alot of bits and bobs to get fitted but it is looking and performing asolutely amazingly!

Can you please tell me were you got this and how much it costs.

Does it fit straight onto the car or does it have to be adapted.

bmc kit!

Post by jon_poloV »

the kit can be purchased from demon tweeks. the kit is around 180 pounds (thats just the filter, braket,a metal cold air ducting hose.) i had to adapt it to fit. i had to get a piece of 50mm pipe and cut it down to make a collar for where it attatches to the engine. the trottle body on the 8v is only 50mm and i needed it to be 60 so the rupper pipe made it about 63mm. i used silicone housing to join the filter to the engine. i think that the silicone tubing is much better than the coated metal tubing as that stuff often splits therefore defeating the object and may loose pressure going to the filter and suck in warm air. i then used 80mm silicone tubing to go from front bumper to the filter. i used such a big size for maximum airflow. so i used some samco hosing as a collar to make the inlet on the filter 80mm. you have two pipes on the old airbox and you use a breather for the large one and you can either leave the thin tube off without a breather or put one on. VW said that i would be best to put a breather on the small one to stop bit possibly going down it.
hope this helps

cold air ducting

Post by jon_poloV »

where is everyone ducting cold air to the filter from, im using a pipe going from the bottom grill next to my left foglight ( left if driving the car lol).
i was going to take it from the grill with the vw badge in but thought there were not many gaps for the air to go through.

my air duct is positioned behind my kamei grille, behind there, theres a nice gap of about the size of a 50 pence piece and being abit higher than the lower grille, it doesnt pick up s**t off the road
