i think i may have f**ked my throttle body i took it off and cleaned it as instucted by some of the guides i have found on varius forums now i have put it back on again exactly as it came off jus alot cleaner and it is hunting up and down between 1500 and 2000 any ideas wat if wrong any1?? and how can i sort it??

two things you can do,either disconnect the battery overnight which sometimes resetts it or have it resett using vagcom,a garage will charge for the service so try and see if anyone on here or elsewhere has the vagcom.

ok il try that i sprayed a lil brake cleaner around the seal were the tb sits on the inlet mani and the idle slowed down before shouting up again so gonna get a new rubber seal from vw today see if that helps matters then reset it with vagcom if still dont idle right.

cant get over how much oil was caked onto the throttle body

new seal has solved 1 air leck, reset throttle body but still not idling properly gonna try maf sensor next any ideas any1??

up date car running fine again now wat i did was gave it a good blast up the road brought it back into the garage wacked it back onto the computer reset ecu and throttle body runs lovely again now thanks for peoples advice
