From the 6N2 that I picked up yesterday, something seems to be missing from the inside of the petrol flap to enable it to "click" into place when closing it. In other words, the flap is a bit, well, flapping about.
The lock pin I can see at the car end, but the inside of the petrol flap does not have anything for that to click into.
Could I see the inside of the petrol flap please from another 6n2 owner? Or perhaps, someone knows what I am actually missing?
Petrol flap - inside picture please?
Re: Petrol flap - inside picture please?
im not 100% sure what you mean. but the petrol cap flap doesnt really click into anything.
so there isnt anything missing i would imagin. the Hinge does all the work. once it gets to a certain degree it pulls itself shut. like a door with one of those hinge arms on the top.
when you say
are you talking about how it locks?
when the car is turned on or the car is locked then a little pin shoots out to lock the petrol cap flap down
it just fits into the little bit on the attual flap.

the photos arnt great as done on my phone but inside the little section on the flap for the pin to fit into is a little black bit of i think rubber. this may be the bit your talking about. i guess if thats missing then the pins has room to move around. hence the flap moving slightly. if thats the case you could try a substiute as i wouldnt imagine its something you could buy on its own. would require buying a new pertrol cap flap

(sorry of the bad quality hopefully someone else will get some up)
hope this helped in some way.

Re: Petrol flap - inside picture please?
Excellent, thanks for that. Great help.
Yes - the rubber bit is missing, everything else from your picture is the same in mine. The lock is working fine, just that the flap does not close properly (i.e. is open about three quarters of a cm or so.
Thanks again for your trouble of taking the pics!

thats perfectly fine
glad to help
Re: Petrol flap - inside picture please?
Just another quick question on this one - the hinge is quite loose, i.e. when the flap is open, you can move it up and down quite a bit. Has anyone ever seen exactly how the flap is fixed - i.e. are there any screws that can be tightened?
