-->lowering problems<--

Post by poloboyben »

Hi. half way thrpugh lowereing my mk5 polo, have done the rear of the car and have come to do the front and have come across a bit of a problem. Have jacked the car up, removed the two front wheels, opened the bonnet, removed the black cap and just need to know how you open the top nut, ive found the correct sized spanner and it just keeps turning. Do i need a special tool? if so what tool is it?

Cheers

You need to hold the strut with an allen key. 7mm or 8mm as I recall. I used a long allen key with a spark plug socket (as its got the hole in the top and the ability to be turned by another tool), and turned the spark plug socket with a suitable spanner, while holdig the key in the same position.

Much easier with an air gun!
