How slow are 1.0..

Post by sonne »

I.v been wanting a 1.4 but i'm abit short of funds at the moment so was thinking either wait till i can afford a nice 1.4 or get a 1.0 now which i have seen, i'v never drivin a 1.0 can someone tell me are they really alot slower that a 1.4 or is it mostly at high speeds as i live in a city and wudn't really get over 50 anyways, thanks.

the 1.0s are quite pokey up to around 50 then they tend to top off and its a gradual climb to 70 and above. I had one for well over a year and was happy with the performance and economy it gave. If your not doing motorways, you wont miss much!

when i drove a 1 litre 6n2 over my 1.4 it seemed very slow (but am used to the 1.4) and like alex said unless your going to do lots of motorway miles it will do you fine....

I had one as a coutesy car for a few days. It was pretty good lower down the rev range and under 50 ish but dont bother revving the t**s off it cos it wont move any faster.

The worst thing about it was the handling! My god, ive never driven a car with as much roll and lack of 'feel' as that. My mums old clio 1.2 was much much better than that was. Not sure if the 1.4s come with better shocks/antiroll bars but if they do, save up for one!
