Thats the emissions management light - engine is EPC

It could be one of many things - plug it into your vagcom and check for fault codes on Engine 01

yup EPC is the Engine Management System warning light - it means you have a problem, and if it keeps coming on, you might want to look into getting it checked out.

Hi
Here is the VAG fault code list

cleared the codes, started the engine and the light has gone out

but is my joy short lived, am I just masking a problem?
Could this tie in with the poor MPG?

cheers

The light still might come on if the fault is still there - Normally takes about 20-30mins for it to come back on your dash... Seeing as you haven't got the registered version of VAGCOM, thought I'd help you out with the other fault codes...

Hi

Emma many thanks for your post

Alex I just changed the coolant temp sensor 2 weeks ago??

Im not convinced about these new clocks, fuel gauge seems to be all over the place, have contacted the ebay seller for a replacement so I think ill do that first.
Drove to work today (30mins) no lights or issues

still sounds like you may have a grounding issue. Clean all your battery contacts, and check everything on the battery is tight. This could also have reference to the 18010 error.

As for the temp sender, try spraying some contact cleaner (or just wd40) into the connection for the temperature sender to see if that helps it.
