Post by jackawolfe »

hello there my names jack

and i got my first car about 2 months ago its a silver vw polo mk5 6n2 5 door....

and iam reallllllyyyyyyy keeen to modify it. for starters i have been to my local audio shop and i have ordered this set up

custom made sub box ill updat pictures tommorow. its so lucky beacouse i went in there and the man went into his room and pulled out the box. it was £189 but it was on offer for £50 so i had to bye it. :)

also i have ordered sub & amp alphine £200
front 2 door speekers plus tweeters £120
2 6x9 £80
clarion head unit bluetooth ipod conectivity £180.

thats the audio set up.
also iam thinking about having the factory frontspeers put into the rear doors. and then the new alphine ones put into the front.

but iam not sure on the second stage iam thinking smooth bumper and new gti grill also fitting fog lights.
also iam puzzled when coming to the alloys i really like the deep dish wide alloys i think they look cool, but my budgets not really able to spend over 600 on alloys and tyres. so is there any idears guys.
also iam thinking to lower the car any information about that...

thank you very much. sorry about righting so much iam just really looking faward to this project..

Factory front speakers in the rear doors is a pretty pointless idea - 1 they are rubbish, and 2, you need the higher spec door cards that have the tweeter built in and a grille for the speaker to get it to work. Just get a decent set if you really want rear speakers, but if your having 6x9s theres next to no point!

Second Alex there, no point in stock rear speakers. Personally I'd leave the 6X9s out and put more money into your components and just run front speakers.

Lowering your car really depends on your budget and the look you want to go for. If your swaying towards deep dish wheels you'd probably want quite a low stance, meaning you'll be after coilovers (adjustable suspension). Kits start at around £245 on a budget, these are pretty cheap but do the job if your more after the look than handling. A decent kit will start at around £500-700 and up.

£600 is a good budget for wheels, get yourself signed up to Edition38, clubpolo and the ever so quiet Wheel-Whores forums and you'll find yourself some decent second hand wheels within your price range.
