I have AP coilovers on my 9n tdi and I don't need different droplinks. I don't run super low but I'm wound down all the way at the back (with adjusters still in until next summer). Like this:

Ive got standard droplinks on mine and ive got APs. I have had to remplace a droplink since fitting them though.

Mines all the way down at the back (with adjustor out) and got a bit left at the front.

What tool are you guys using to unlock your APs?? I didnt get a key with mine, my mate had to adjust mine cos i didnt have anything that was the correct size.
